Fruit of the month:
Christiane Abel
Christiane Abel has been part of the team since 1 May 2023. In this interview, she talks about her specific areas of responsibility in quality assurance.

As a restaurant specialist and graduate ecotrophologist (i.e. nutritionist), Christiane has already worked in nutritional therapy and product development. She now contributes her expertise to the quality assurance department and sustainability issues.

Christiane, what are your tasks in terms of sustainability?

In short: diverse. For example, I check all steps along our supply chains for sustainability. This includes social, ecological and economic factors. So I check that our partners and suppliers produce food in the most environmentally friendly way possible, that there is no child labour and that the collaboration is economically viable for everyone. This also means that we are ideally prepared for the Supply Chain Act.

... a great interface to quality management (QM)?

That's how it is. I also take care of various test reports and inspections with my colleagues. For example, we were only awarded the IFS certificate again in June 2023. For us in QM, however, this also means that we have to keep developing in order to maintain all the requirements for future certifications.

Sounds challenging. And why did you choose PMM?

To be honest: I was really impressed by the Tomato videos and the entire external appearance. I immediately liked this self-irony paired with great professionalism. Now, after my first two months, I'm very happy that my feeling wasn't wrong and that I feel very comfortable in the team and with my job.

That makes us happy - nice to have you here!
